About us
Safari-Guide and Entrepreneur
At Jocasta Safaris Camp, we cherish the natural surroundings and the fragile ecosystems of the Makgadikgadi. Our camp is a place to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience the vast openness of Botswana in a quiet and authentic way.
Nature begins right at your doorstep: birds can be spotted at the nearby pan, evenings invite you to stargaze after a gentle bush walk, and under the shade of “Jumbo”, our majestic baobab tree, guests gather to rest, observe and enjoy the stillness of the land.
The camp was founded by Jocasta T. Bobeng, a Motswana professional guide, teacher, farmer and entrepreneur, and a true daughter of this land.
From a young age, Jocasta dreamed of sharing the beauty of Botswana with travellers from around the world. As an eco‑training field guide instructor, she lovingly shares her knowledge of nature and birdlife. Her deep connection to the land, her family and traditions shapes the calm and welcoming spirit of the camp.
Since 2023, Jocasta Safaris Camp has grown and is now lovingly supported and co‑managed by a co‑owner, bringing fresh energy while staying true to the original vision and spirit of the camp.
Claudia Fluri, from Switzerland, first fell in love with Africa in 2017. When she met Jocasta in Botswana in 2023, their shared values and passion for people and nature made it clear that they were meant to work together. As a coach and mentor with a strong organisational background, Claudia supports the camp’s development while respecting its soul. In her free time, she draws inspiration from nature, wildlife and an active outdoor lifestyle.
What we offer
Jocasta Safaris Camp offers a peaceful camping experience under millions of stars in the vast Makgadikgadi National Park. Located between Maun and Nata, it is an ideal base to explore highlights such as the Makgadikgadi Pans, Baines’ Baobabs and Nxai Pan – far from the crowds of Moremi and the Okavango Delta.
The area is known for excellent game viewing, especially birdlife during the rainy season. Our elephant‑fenced camp provides a safe and natural setting with neat ablution blocks and shaded campsites surrounded by indigenous trees, including marula trees, purplepod cluster leaf and baobabs.
A quiet place. A shared vision. A heartfelt Botswana experience.
